Why can’t I get any gas out of my tank when I turn it on?
The valve in your cylinder has an internal check valve in it. It requires a connection to be made to the tank before gas will flow out of the tank. This is a safety measure that prevents gas from releasing from the tank if the valve was accidentally turned on.
What is an OPD?
OPD stands for Overfill Prevention Device. As defined by the National Fire Protection Association’s Pamphlet 58 - LP-Gas Code, 1998 Edition (Code), it is...‘A safety device that is designed to provide an automatic means to prevent the filling of a container in excess of the maximum permitted filling limit.’ In essence, it helps prevent the possibility of a cylinder being filled too full, which could cause a fire hazard due to the cylinder relief valve discharging gas near an ignition source or by liquid propane being delivered to the appliance that the cylinder is connected too. Visit this location to learn more about the OPD valve and it’s history.
When I purchase or exchange a cylinder at a RapidXchange location, do I own the cylinder?
Yes. When you purchase or exchange a cylinder from a RapidXchange location, it is sill your cylinder. You own the cylinder and may continue to exchange it at a RapidXchange location or have it refilled or exchanged at another location.
I have a cylinder with another exchange company’s name on it. Will RapidXchange take this cylinder?
Yes. We accept any competitor’s cylinder or any cylinder that has been refilled in the past. Just visit the nearest RapidXchange location for a Safe and Quality cylinder.
Can I leave the cylinder in my car while I go shopping?
